BACKGROUND
BRIEF
OUTCOME
Leaps & Bounds Trust is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Its delivery remit, and governing principles, is to work with at-risk young people to turn their lives round through a combination of intense & sustained personal development, ongoing pastoral support and the highest standard of artistic, cultural or sporting engagement.
Leaps & Bounds delivered the acclaimed Ballet Hoo! project bringing ballet and personal development to a group of vulnerable teenagers. Building on this success, Leaps and Bounds are currently working on developing new projects.
We were asked to be a part of Leaps and Bounds’ summer intensive project. This project would allow a cohort of 16-24 year olds the chance to perform a modern rendition of Romeo and Juliet at the Hippodrome in Birmingham.
We were asked to come and document the project, starting with early rehearsals right through to the full performance. The intensive took place over the course of one week and afterwards, we were required to put together a short highlights video of the week with some testimonials from the young people.
We were very pleased with this video project and thoroughly enjoyed documenting the process and seeing the performance come together day by day.
With the video we wanted to capture a feeling of how the young people felt about the experience alongside a visual narrative of the performance from the early stages of rehearsals right through to the final performance.
We felt that we achieved this to good effect and love how the video has turned out.
